Dental Anesthesiologist: Andrew Subido
Dr. Subido attended and earned his Doctorate at the University of California, San Francisco. He then attended New York University Langone Medical Center for a Residency in Anesthesiology. Dr. Subido values the importance of patient satisfaction and a great experience. His main goals are to create a pain and anxiety free dental visit for everyone, and to maintain the safety profile for the pediatric and special needs population receiving anesthesia services in the dental setting.
Dr. Subido has been trained to specifically manage pain and anxiety within the dental environment. As our patient, a preassessment consultation is scheduled in order to assess the metabolic capacity of those we treat. Dr. Subido creates the anesthetic plan through careful assessment of a patients fear and anxiety level, history of gag reflex, the procedure being undertaken, medical history and age, developmental status, and the effectiveness of local anesthetics in the past. After a thorough evaluation of your medical history and surgical plan, Dr. Subido is able to formulate an anesthetic technique specific for you. This plan may include oral sedation, intravenous moderate sedation, deep sedation, and general anesthesia. Airway management for the anesthetized patient depends on a number of variables and would include oral and/or nasopharyngeal airway, laryngeal mask airway, and an oral/nasal endotracheal tube.
As a dental anesthesiologist, Dr. Subido is trained to provide safe outpatient anesthesia services for the dental environment. Dr. Subido's knowledge of anesthetic drugs allows him to titrate different combinations of different routes of drug delivery (oral, intramuscular, intravenous, and inhalational) resulting in a safe and effective anesthetic.
